Story of Abraham and his sons
In fact the Hebrews are the ancestors of the Jewish people who were living in Mesopotamia in 2000 BC. Abraham, who was one of those Hebrews, started believing that the whole universe was created by one God from his early childhood. It is then believed that Abraham's God told him to leave his home and lead the Hebrews into the land of Cannan, promising Abraham the power and success of Hebrews. So Abraham heads off to Cannan with the Hebrews.
A famous story in the bible of Abraham and his son Isaac happens then. God wanted to test Abraham's faith and loyalty so he told to sacrifice Abraham's son, Isaac. Abraham decided to carry out the sacrifice his son until the angel from God stopped Abraham and saved Isaac. Abraham could then sacrifice a lamb instead of his son.
After years, a boy named Jacob was born from Isacc and he was given another name called 'Israel' from the angel. Israel's 12 sons later became 'Twelve Tribes.

Story of Moses
After long time, a serious femine affected the Hebrews living in Cannan and caused the flee to Egypt. The Hebrews arrived in Egypt and their population started to grow greatly with their wealthy and successful lives. However, the Pharoh of Egypt was not pleased with this and felt uneasiness so he decided to enslave the Hebrews. Hebrews had to spend a long time of severe labor work and bondage until a new savior appeared. A boy named 'Moses' was given birth from the Hebrew woman but he had to be hidden at the Nile River. Startlingly, Moses was found by a princess of Egypt and was raised as her child. Moses later writes a sacred text called 'Torah' which includes 5 books of Moses; Genesis (Bereisheet), Exodus (Shemot), Leviticus (Vayikra), Numbers (BaMidbar) and Deuteronomy (D'varim)
Moses grew up thinking he was Egypt's child until he accidently finds out that he was Hebrew. After knowing the truth, Moses wanted the freedom and release of the Hebrew slaves in Egypt but Pharoh rejected this. God was furious at the pharoh, Ramses II so punished him with '10 plagues'.
1. Plague of Blood
2. Plague of Frogs
3. Plague of Lice
4. Plague of Flies
5. Plaguel of death of animals
6. Plague of fatal skin disease
7. Plague of hails
8. Plague of Locusts
9. Plague of Darkness
10. Plauge of death of firstborn
Giving way to these horrible plagues, Pharaoh chose to let go of Hebrew slaves. Moses led these Hebrews to a journey called Exodus. Moses divided the Red Sea so Hebrews could cross. (Famous as 'The Crossing of the Red Sea') They had to wander and travel for such long time on the deserts of the Middle East. During these period, they find a mountain called Sinai where God has given Moses two stone tablets. These two stone tablets were the code of moral laws, the 'Ten Commandments'.
Interesting fact is that Judaism and Christianity have quite the same origin as both religions started from the bible. (or Torah)

When the Hebrews finally arrived at Canaan, they fought for their lost land and managed to settle in Canaan. (Known as Israelites) Israel flourished as a wealthy kingdom with a great temple in Jerusalem. Israel split into two kingdoms, Israel and Judah after conflict over the throne. This Judah is known as Jewish in modern days. Centuries after the invasion, forces and destruction, Jewish managed to surivive and maintain their populations successfully.
